It was just going to be a night out with the girls. Brittany was in her second year of undergraduate school, and with her two girlfriends went out to their favorite bar in Tallahassee. What started out as a girls night out became a night that would change her life forever. Evan was with his friends sitting at the bar next to them, and after a few drinks, a conversation ensued filled with fun Q&A’s. So many similarities began to pop up between them. They soon discovered that they were both from Cleveland, Ohio, and not only that but their families lived only minutes apart. A relationship quickly blossomed between them. 9 years later, on Christmas Eve, Brittany and Evan along with her family were busy opening their Christmas presents. After all the presents were open, Evan came back with a large wrapped box. He handed it to Brittany and told her it was her final gift. Brittany was curious as to what it could possibly be. She opened the large box, only to find a slightly smaller, wrapped gift box inside. She opened that gift, which again contained a smaller wrapped box. Inside this fourth and final gift box was the stocking Evan gave her on their first Christmas together in 2007. Completely confused, she reached into the stocking and pulled out a piece of paper, labeled as Evan’s “Christmas Wish List.” The Wish List had Evan’s handwriting “wishing” that Brittany would like her new “stocking.” (along with other sweet wishes) Evan directed her to the Christmas tree and told her that her new “stocking” was on the tree somewhere. Still not very sure of what was going on, she searched all over the tree until she found an ornament in the shape of a stocking with her name on it. It was a mini version to match the original stocking he gave her in 2007. She opened the ornament to find the most beautiful diamond engagement ring inside. Evan proceeded to get down on one knee in front of the Christmas tree and her family and proposed. He had not told anyone except her sister what his plans were, so everyone was as surprised as she was.
