Personal Post | Halloween & A Little Boy’s Hunt for the Perfect Pumpkin

Lifestyle Portraits, Our Life

My son loves hunting for the perfect pumpkin and, as expected, being a photographer’s son he is very attentive to details. He will take his time weeding out the “perfect” pumpkin, and I love following him around on his adventure. Our local church hosts a pumpkin patch every year where our townfolk can go and get their perfect jack-o-lantern to carve.

Some pumpkins were big.

Some pumpkins we small.

That was when he saw it. With excitement, he ran across the patch to the far side. Bound and determined to bring this pumpkin home he wrestled it off of the stand, being the big boy he is, he was prepared to carry it himself.

Oops! Maybe he won’t be carrying it.

That’s ok Mom, we can roll it!

With Daddy’s help, he was able to hold his prized pumpkin! He was so proud of his perfect pumpkin!

I have been severely lacking in making personal posts, I have never posted any of his Halloween Costumes. So, I am going to have a Flash Back of all of Leon’s Halloween Costumes since day one. We are total nerds, so beware, the costumes you are about to see are epic, and we have a running streak. Leon loves dressing up, and I get to put my craftiness to the test to make these costumes. Leon’s Uncle “O-ey” sometimes dresses in a complimenting character, so he will be randomly appearing here and there.

Leon’s first year (at 4 months old) I was a  super proud New Momma of this first costume, and I still am. If you don’t know, he is Pikachu from Pokemon.

His second Halloween he was little Goku from Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball fans will understand the fact that he is on the flying nimbus in the second picture (I had to, lol.)

His third year he was Leonidas from 300, epic red cloak and all. He had a blast in this costume.

His 4th year we went back to Pokemon but this time he was Ash Ketchum, and my husband and I joined in and dressed at Brock and Misty!

His fifth Halloween he dressed up as Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas! He tied for first place in our local Costume Contest! And here comes Uncle “O-ey” dressed as the Oogie Boogie Man, lol. We put burlap over an inflatable sumo costume.

This year he dressed as Link from Zelda, and where would like be without his trusty fairy, Tatl? Uncle “O-ey” was the Skull Kid with Majora’s Mask! My son absolutely LOVES Zelda, we have played numerous ones from Ocarina of Time to Twilight Princess, and I am excited to play Breath of the Wild!
