Stuart Wedding Photographer | Seaside Maiden Wedding Inspiration

Fall, House of Refuge, Stuart, Weddings, Winter

As a child, I probably drove my parents up the wall watching The Little Mermaid one too many times. I love the beach, unfortunately, I prefer the northern rocky beaches of California to the flat beaches of Florida. But, there was one place in Florida that I know of that has rocks and small “mini” cliffs. I had been wanting to utilize this location for years for a wedding shoot. The House of Refuge in Stuart, Florida was perfect!

Imagine a girl awaiting her sea traveling fiance’ on the shoes of their homeland, he is due to arrive that day and everything is prepped and ready for them to exchange their vows intimately. She donned a beautiful WHITE by Vera Wang full layered tulle gown. We left her hair down and natural to allow it the most life in the sea breeze.

Touches of seafoam blue and sea glass green for our color scheme to complement the ocean backdrop. Her Bouquet was filled with white and green tinted ranunculus, soft blue hydrangea, and a larger variety of greenery. Flower Petals of Okeechobee, Fl did an amazing job designing this bouquet.

Each part of the day from prep, to the ceremony, to reception was included in the shoot, but followed a minimalist feel. We set up a rocky vanity for the prep accented with pillar candles as well as a variety of antique accents. The Ceremony had a minimalist touch decorated with an array of various pillar candles. The Tablescape was set low on the ground right next to the shoreline, decorated with an assortment of coral and message bottles with tall candlesticks, the driftwood and napkins arrange to almost mimic the sails of a ship on the plates.
